“Why is that woman on my ship,” the captain bellowed, his wild brown eyes looking into the quarters of his science officer. His brother.
Standing with an odd sort of stiffness the man turned and looked at the woman, “I am studying the after affects of different substances on the inhibitions of a human’s brain,” he said coldly before turning back to the captain. His brown hair hung almost too shortly cut across his forehead, his wide eyes looking at the Captain as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
The sentence had hit the captain like a wave, his face shocked as he stared at the man in front of him. Waving a hand he shook his head, “Lyle, just get her off my ship now,” he ordered, “as soon as our security officer is here we are leaving,” he added.
Moving to walk away he leaned back to the door and waved at the woman, “nice to meet you,” his voice quick, the woman sitting in an obvious state of confusion. Moving down the hallway he could hear his brother telling the woman to leave, making Jayden chuckle. Running a hand over his head the man walked with a sense of purpose toward the helm, “are we ready to fly Officer Yamauchi?” his tongue butchering the last name of the slight Japanese woman tucker beneath the controls of the ship. Moving forward the lights of the ships panels illuminated his rich skin, a thin dark scar cutting up from his lip and across his cheek.
Laying on her back the woman pulled herself from under the control board of the ship, “yes Captain, everything is looking up to date, no bad cords or cables in here. And you can call me Mai, we are going into deep space Captain, the black does not care for pleasantries,” she added, grabbing a hold of the pilots chair and pulling herself off the ground. Standing her hip swung out with a natural sway, the blue military jumpsuits top unbuttoned and tied around her waist, leaving a simple black shirt to cling to her small frame.
“We are not in the black yet Officer,” the Captain said, grinning at the girl quickly before looking at the controls, his hand aimlessly lifting, thumb and pointer finger finding the corners of his mouth and tracing along his lower lip.
Crossing her arms over her chest Mai looked at the Captain, “you know it would nice to know where exactly we are heading so I could plot a more complete course Sir,” she asked, her short black hair hanging in an array of black waves around her face, her dog tag dangling below her collarbones.
“Classified until the ship is in orbit, and all crew members are cleared,” he said simply, “as soon as we are secure, and I have confirmed all members,” he added, referring to himself, his brother, Mai standing in front of him, their doctor and the security officer, “then you will all be briefed.”
Rolling her eyes Mai turned to the controls, “so for now just pick a direction?” she asked, leaning over the control board, raising one eyebrow and looking back over her shoulder at the Captain.
Leaning backwards on the wall the Captain shrugged, “yeah sure, how about that way,” he joked pointing in one direction, his eyes catching a quick grin that spread to the pilot’s face.
